Gone are the days of the basic ghost town. It has a theme in that it was originally a Ghost Town, but has added many fast amusement type rides. We have a good runner up in Knotts, but it has evolved into a hybrid park. Rides that are both thrilling and story based. What better then the imaginiation of Disney to create a park that sucks you in and overwhelms you with multiple sensory stimulus. We have the ultimate THEME park in Disneyland. I am a Southern California native and hence spoiled in both worlds. If all there is are rides then it is an amusement park. I think that you have to remember the basics from the term "theme park." If the over all theme sucks, so will the park. That is one way for parks to go.to create a perceivable community that offers an immersive experience of fun and education and being to those who visit there. They would invite guests to join them and talk about the day and the area and anything else that came to mind.making their community a living and breathing reality.which is more than a theme park with shops, crafters, music, and, rides. I was highly impressed to see the cast members, the craftspeople, the food and beverage people, all eating "on-stage" throughout the day at SDC. It is about the Silver Dollar City experience. The people who work the booths and the attractions are the townsfolk there, and, they share their community with you. It also has a highly developed story and cast to support the story of SDC as well. SDC has basic rides and such with theming primarily applied to the queue areas of the top thrillers. Another park that is similar (and operated by the same parent company) is SILVER DOLLAR CITY. It has to speak in a universal language that anyone from any nation can understand.ĭOLLYWOOD was mentioned. And, it must offer something that is a common bonding experience for everyone who enters that realm to latch ahold of. The adventures and moments therein need to offer something to all age groups of a family. It comes from telling the story of the place and space that exists for us to enter and experience. This agrees with extremely immersive theming and concept development of a given reality.

The idea as I see it would be more of an interactive reality experience.

Getting all of them right is the recipe for success. There are several factors that go into a good theme park. (I feel that parks should start going after senior citizen workers more so than teenagers.works great for Dollywood) The park’s employees need to overcome the image of being rude teenagers that don’t care about the visitors or the overall image. All the staff should be friendly and helpful, and the happiness of the guests should be their #1 priority. The employees are the key to making sure the park is well liked and has a good reputation. The grounds should be VERY clean and well landscaped too. The park should be heavily themed to make guests feel like they've entered another place or time once inside the gates. Great atmosphere is another important point. Like I said above, there should be something for everyone. There should be something for everyone.ĭisney and Universal are obviously the kings of the theme park world, but some smaller regional parks like Dollywood and Busch Gardens Williamsburg have done great jobs at providing balanced, all around great experiences.Ī great park should have fun rides, but there should also be a lot of live entertainment and other unique attractions to keep things balanced. I think that a true theme park should have a balance of all sorts of attractions.
